Payoneer Brings its Global Payment Service to the Metaverse with Naver Z

Quick take:

  • Naver Z signed a partnership agreement with Payoneer to become its global payment service provider.
  • A subsidiary of Naver Corp wants to bring the services of its global payment platform to ZEPETO, the company’s global metaverse platform with over 320 million users.
  • This partnership extends Payoneer’s ecosystem into the creator economy, which has become a key area of the company’s business.

Payoneer was selected by Naver Z to provide global payment services for ZEPETO, a Korean company’s global metaverse platform with over 320 million registered users. Naver Z is a subsidiary of South Korean internet giant Naver Corp. Earlier this year, the company announced that he would raise $100 million for the Metaverse project.

Zepeto started as a 3D creator app, but has since come with more tools and features to make it a fully immersive project.

In June, Naver Z and SoftBank teamed up to launch a Metaverse shop on the platform. The shop offers his 24-hour customer service, and after hours an AI bot takes over human customer service from his provider.

Payoneer joins Zepeto’s community of creators to provide a global payment service that enables users of the Metaverse platform to “conveniently pay and receive payments in multiple currencies and territories.”

Online payment service providers are expanding their footprint in the creator economy, which has become one of the key areas for strategic growth. The partnership also serves as a resource for creators to expand their global customer base.

Naver Z will also be able to pay creators quickly and cost-effectively.

Ricky Kang, Head of Business at Naver Z, said: By helping improve payment speeds for Naver Z, the partnership between Naver Z and Payoneer unlocks economic opportunities for creators by enabling them to sell to new markets and receive payments regardless of location. Zoom in. ”

Meanwhile, Woo Yong Lee, Head of East Asia at Payoneer, commented: Cross-border payments in the digital economy due to the complex nature of financial operating systems.
